Welcome to our international program. Alexandra Hills State High School is located in beautiful Redland City approximately 30 minutes drive from the centre of Brisbane. We are the gateway to picturesque Moreton Bay islands and are surrounded by lush surroundings and exotic wildlife.

Since 2005, Alexandra Hills State High has welcomed students from Germany, Brazil, Italy, Hungary, Chile, Argentina, France, Austria, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan, Norway, Malaysia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Persia, India, and Thailand. At Alexandra Hills we believe that students learn best in a caring, professional and culturally diverse environment. Many Australian and International families choose to enrol their children at our school because of our academic excellence which provides pathways and opportunities for entrance into our local universities.

Alexandra Hills State High School provides outstanding learning opportunities to suit individual student needs. Exceptional variety in subject offerings and a spacious, leafy campus are unique features of our school. We have a strong academic and artistic focus, and students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular programs including music, debating, chess, academic competitions and community-service clubs.

At our Centre of Excellence in Automation and Robotics, we deliver dynamic and innovative programs, with students benefiting from cutting-edge resources and unique opportunities through industry and university partnerships. Our vibrant Dance Academy program has produced numerous regional, state and national titles.

Our International Department boasts professional staff who cater for both the educational and emotional well-being of our international students. We hope to provide students with opportunities to gain experience in understanding the Australian culture and lifestyle. International students complete a comprehensive orientation program, focused on the school community, environment, and local culture. In conjunction with this, we offer International Mentors to assist new students and to welcome them into our school community.

Graduate Program (over 12 months duration)

This popular program is for long term students who wish to study in Australia for a period of two years or more. Generally, students on the Graduate Program further their education here in Australia after graduating from high school by enrolling in one of our local universities or colleges:
University of Queensland, QUT (Queensland University of Technology), Griffith University, TAFE

Students are able to join the Graduate Program from Year 7 onwards and will typically stay in homestay accommodation during this time. Students take part in mainstream classes but with support in the area of English as a Second Language, which is included in the weekly timetable for all Graduate Program students.

Senior students at Alexandra Hills State High School are able to explore a range of VET (Vocational Educational and Training) pathways. These pathways allow students to complete and attain a nationally recognised certificate whilst at school. These can be attained through School Registered VET subjects.

Study Abroad Program (3, 6 or 12 months duration)

Students who participate in our 'Study Abroad' program usually spend one to four school terms studying at Alexandra Hills State High School.  The Study Abroad program provides the opportunity to pursue cultural and academic goals. Students are able to commence at Alexandra Hills at the beginning of any school term – January, April, July and October (please note that year 12 commencement in October is subject to approval).
