Seven international flags of countries in the International Student Program

International student program

Alexandra Hills State High School is located in beautiful Redland City approximately 30 minutes from the centre of Brisbane. We are the gateway to picturesque Moreton Bay islands and are surrounded by lush surroundings and exotic wildlife.

Each year Alexandra Hills State High welcomes students from Germany, Brazil, Italy, Hungary, Chile, Argentina, France, Austria, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan, Norway, Malaysia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Persia, India, and Thailand. At Alexandra Hills we believe that students learn best in a caring, professional and culturally diverse environment. Many Australian and International families choose to enrol their children at our school because of our academic excellence which provides pathways and opportunities for entrance into our universities.

We aim to instil cultural understanding, tolerance and inclusion amongst all our staff and students; so we can gain global learning experiences. Our International Student Program has been designed to bring a greater international focus to our curriculum. With today’s focus on gaining and establishing global communities, it is important for young people to develop an enhanced understanding of other cultures.

Our International Department boasts professional staff that caters for both educational and emotional well-being of our International students. We hope to provide students with opportunities to gain experience in understanding the Australian culture and lifestyle.

Alexandra Hills SHS offers a broad range of study options that cater for diverse interests and future pathways which is a testament to our caring and friendly learning environment.

International students complete a comprehensive orientation program, focused on the school community, environment, and local culture.

In conjunction with this, we offer International Mentors to assist new students and to welcome them into our school community; in turn making Alexandra Hills an attractive place to study.
