Alexandra Hills State High School will be conducting an after-school
Homework Centre this year. Homework is an important part of every child’s
education and development. Finding the time to help your student/child to get
their homework completed can be a challenge for busy families. To ease this
burden on families, Homework Centres have been established at 120 schools
across Queensland.
Homework Centres aim to support students’ learning, development and engagement
in school and forge strong supportive links between home and school. The
Homework Centre will also support students to develop good study habits and
provide additional learning time for students with their peers.
The Homework Centre is an after-hours opportunity to complete homework and
assessment items supervised by teacher aides. These sessions will be held in
the Resource Centre (Library) every Monday and Wednesday 3.00pm to 4:30pm in
Weeks 2 - 9 of each School Term. These sessions will be capped at 24
students per session. If you choose to register your student, they will be
required to attend in Term 1 and Term 2. A new registration form will be sent
out in June for the second half of the school year.
The Homework Centre will commence on Week 2 of each term.
