Instrumental Music is a co-curricular subject enabling students to learn an instrument in small group tutorials with a specialised teacher and perform in a relevant ensemble to enhance their learning. Instrumental Music is assessed, and progress is reported through the school's academic reporting process.
Our school offers tuition for the Band component on instruments from the Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion families.
Instrument options include:
- Woodwind: Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Oboe, assoon
- Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium/Baritone, Tuba
- Percussion: ALL tuned and untuned percussion.
- Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
It is the aim of the Instrumental Music program at Alexandra Hills State High School to help as many students as possible experience and enjoy the benefits of music making.
