Alexandra Hills SHS is very aware that a student's home life can have a dramatic impact on schooling.  Please do not hesitate to contact any member of THE HUB and discuss the concerns, which you feel may effect a students educational outcome, personal wellbeing or the wellbeing of others.

Please see a number of agencies that work directly with families and are a valuable resource to Redlands and online community.

Family and Child Connect

Family and Child Connect can help with a range of family and parenting challenges. We'll talk with you about your situation and work out the type of support you might find helpful.

We can connect you to local services that can help with:

  • managing your child's behaviour (e.g. skipping school, running away from home, homework, tantrums)
  • building better family relationships
  • stopping any violence at home
  • budgeting and managing money
  • alcohol, drug or gambling problems
  • housing, health care or access to other community or government services.

Parentline

Parentline is a confidential telephone service providing professional counselling and support in Queensland and the Northern Territory. Our phones are open every day from 8am – 10pm, while WebChat is available every day from 8am – 9pm.

Triple P Positive Parenting Program

Triple P is an internationally-acclaimed parenting program which is offered free to all Queensland parents and carers of children up to 16 years of age. Triple P is considered one of the world's best because it has been scientifically shown to work and because it's already helped more than four million children and their families in more than 25 countries. The Queensland Government is now offering Triple P free as part of its commitment to supporting families across the state.

Student wellbeing HUB

This is your space, where you can find information and advice about important topics like bullying, online safety, communicating with your child and the school, and much more, to help you make your child's learning journey a safe and positive one.
