We hope that your involvement (either first time or continuing) in the program will be fulfilling and enjoyable. The All Music Program at Alexandra Hills State High School offers you a unique and exciting music education.
It is the aim of the All Music Co-curricular Program at Alexandra Hills State High School to help as many students as possible experience and enjoy the benefits of music making. Our objectives are to guide students into developing their abilities in all areas of music through a variety of ensembles and performances styles.
The All Music Program offers a wide range of ensembles.
The ensembles are:
Concert Band and Wind Orchestra - for students playing all woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.
Big Band - specialising in jazz, funk, swing and Latin styles of music.
Percussion Ensemble - a core ensemble of percussion students.
Choir - a vocal group open to all students.
Armonia - an auditioned vocal group specialising in singing in harmony.
Events and Performances
Ensembles from the All Music Program have been involved in many community events and performances including:
Tours to New York/LA, Sydney, Beijing, Canberra, Melbourne and North Queensland
Music Camps
Brisbane City Band's Festival
Redlands Eisteddfod
Musicfest
Annual showcase concert at the Redlands Performing Arts Complex
School productions, special parades and awards evenings.
The All Music Program event calendar has always got something happening and is proudly supported by the All Music Program Supporters (AMPS) with all fundraising and needs of the program. All students playing in the ensembles are required to wear a uniform, please refer to the requirement page to supply you with all information needed
All Music Program Supporters (AMPS)
To support the students and staff of the All Music Program a dedicated group of parents formed under the umbrella of the school P & C.
This group holds fundraising events to provide new instruments and equipment and support students going on tour as well as helping at concerts and performances.
They AMPS group meets twice a term at 6:30pm in the Performing Arts Block – all parents who have a child in the All Music Program are welcome to attend these meetings.
